US Ambassador to the Philippines, His Excellency Harry K. Thomas, Jr, accompanied by other US Embassy officials, visited the Ateneo de Zamboanga University last March 21, 2011. He was met by the Fr. President, Antonio F. Moreno, SJ and other university officials. A sumptuous lunch was tendered for the ambassador and his party at the Carlos Dominguez Hall, LRC Building.
The ambassador, in his brief speech, said that he was delighted to finally visit Ateneo, a university he had heard so much about from his Jesuit mentors.
Later, the ambassador also had the opportunity for a roundtable meeting with Ateneo student leaders headed by Zen Johan Mohammad, President, El Consejo Atenista, at the American Section Resource Center, Main Library.
