Vision
ACE envisions a vibrant Ateneo community where alumni and students collaborate, creating a legacy of continuous spiritual growth and career excellence.
Mission
ACE is dedicated to fostering lasting connections, providing innovative career development services, and nurturing a culture of spiritual and professional growth within the Ateneo de Zamboanga University community.

Objectives:

  1. Continued Spiritual Formation:
    • Collaborate with the university’s formation unit for ongoing spiritual development initiatives.
    • Organize with the university formation unit retreats, seminars, and events that maintain a strong spiritual connection with alumni.
  2. Systematic and Quality Career Assistance for Graduating Students through Linkages with Alumni:
    • Establish a comprehensive program for students and alumni that would allow fellow AdZU alumni to develop a network that can assist in the employment of our graduating students (or existing alumni seeking employment).
    • Through strategic coordination with the College Guidance Office set-up activities for career counseling, resume building, and interview preparation services.
  3. Linking Alumni with Students:
    • Create a robust mentorship program connecting established alumni (of various industries especially  within Zamboanga City.) with graduating students through the internship programs of the Higher Education academic units.
  4. Networking and Training Opportunities:
    • Organize networking events, webinars, and workshops for alumni and students.

Key Functions:

    1. Data Management and Analytics:

    • Implement robust data management systems to track alumni engagement, career outcomes, and program impact.
    • Utilize analytics for continuous improvement and customization of ACE services.
  1. Career Development Services:
    • Work closely with the College Guidance Office to develop and implement career development services, including workshops, seminars, and one-on-one counseling that would link AdZU graduating students to alumni networks.
    • Facilitate industry-specific training programs to enhance the employability of alumni and students.
  2. Feedback and Communication Mechanism:
    • Establish a structured feedback mechanism to gather insights from alumni, students, and partner organizations.
  3. Online Platform:
    • Develop and maintain an interactive online platform for ACE, facilitating easy access to resources, alumni directories, and career development tools.
    • Leverage digital channels for virtual networking events and webinars.
  4. Resource Mobilization:
    • Develop a resource mobilization strategy to ensure sustainable funding for ACE programs and activities.
    • Explore partnerships with alumni benefactors interested in supporting career development and scholarship initiatives.
  5. Visibility/Communication and Branding:
  • Implement a comprehensive branding strategy to enhance the visibility of ACE within the Ateneo community and beyond.
  • Communicate success stories of AdZU Alumni and the impact of ACE programs through various channels.

Programs Offered:

ABRAZO Program – Accompaniment, Belonging, Renewal, Awareness, Zeal, and Oración (Prayer)

  1. Alumni Spiritual Formation Program
  • This program offers alumni opportunities to reconnect with their faith through spiritual activities such as: recollections, retreats, and formation sessions. It encourages reflections, spiritual renewal, and a stronger bond with the university’s mission and community.

    2. Dialogue Sessions: Community and Alumni Conversations

  • This program aims to strengthen the alumni community by promoting AdZU’s core values. Featuring alumni as speakers or participants. It fosters meaningful and respectful dialogue in a safe and inclusive space.

MAGIST Program – Mentorship by Alumni: Guiding and Inspiring Students’ Transformation

  1. This program aims to foster meaningful relationships between alumni mentors and current students (mentees) to guide their personal and professional growth. By pairing alumni with students within the same field of expertise, the program will offer valuable mentorship, career advice, and networking opportunities. The mentors will share their industry insights, help mentees navigate their professional development, and serve as role models in various fields.

MAGIST: Networking and Training Opportunities

  1. Interactive Workshops

    Workshops will be designed to allow students to actively engage with alumni and deepen their understanding of various topics. Possible workshops include:

  • Mock Interviews and Resume Building: Alumni will guide students through mock interviews, offering feedback and advice on improving resumes and interview techniques.
  • Stress Management Techniques: A hands-on session where students will learn practical techniques to manage stress, such as mindfulness exercises, time management strategies, and mental health tips.

MAGIST: Career Talk

  1. MAGIST: Career Talk” is a dynamic program that connects AdZU students with alumni and industry partners who are eager to share their stories, whether from similar backgrounds or completely different paths. Through candid conversations and real-world insights, students gain valuable guidance as they explore their career journeys. It’s a space for inspiration, connection, and discovering possibilities beyond the classroom.

CarE: Career Excellence for Eagles – Internships

  1. The Internships/OJT program aims to provide students with practical experience by facilitating internships within industries relevant to their academic fields. This initiative fosters collaboration between colleges, departments, the alumni network, and industry partners to identify appropriate internship opportunities that enhance students’ academic development. The program seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices, preparing students for their future careers while also strengthening ties between the university, industry partners, and its alumni network.

CarE: Referrals

  1. Partnering with Industries for Career Opportunities and to provide a direct link for AdZU graduates (both fresh and experienced), and students looking for career and professional development opportunities to potential employers through strategic partnerships with various companies and industries.

COURAGE: Career OpportUnities for Readiness and Advancement of Growth and Excellence – Career Fair

  1. The Career Fair connects AdZU graduating students and alumni with industry professionals, potential employers, and career resources. It helps students explore career options, understand job market trends, and secure job opportunities. The ACE Office and CGCO are working together to bring in more industries, offering a wider range of opportunities and making the event more impactful for students and alumni.

COURAGE: Career Opportunities Postings

  1. The Job Vacancy Postings initiative is designed to support AdZU students and alumni by increasing their awareness of employment opportunities. It provides them with access to a regularly updated list of both local and non-local job openings. Through partnerships with industries and companies that engage with the ACE Office, we aim to enhance the employability of our graduates—especially within Zamboanga City—and keep them well-informed about available career opportunities.

Other Functions:

Grand Alumni Homecoming

  • This event provides alumni with the opportunity to reconnect, celebrate shared memories, and honor the enduring legacy of Ateneo de Zamboanga University. The Mid-Year Homecoming (July) and Grand Alumni Homecoming (December) are annual gatherings organized by the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Alumni Association (AdZUAA) in collaboration with the Alumni and Career Excellence (ACE) Office.
  • The ACE Office plays a key role in supporting and coordinating alumni engagement efforts, including Fellowship Night, the Jubilarians’ Mass, the Blue and White Night, and Award Ceremonies. Each year, various activities are planned, with specific events determined by the participating batches. The High School Silver Jubilarians traditionally take on the role of hosting the programs for the Grand Alumni Homecoming Fellowship Night with the approval of AdZUAA, adding a meaningful and engaging touch to the celebration.
