Vision

We stand always prepared to serve and protect the community.

Mission

  • Secure the campus and keep the AdZU Community safe and secured.
  • Works closely with the University administration in all aspects of security operations and recommends policies related to it.
  • Provide administrative direction and ensure the proper implementation of security protocols with the purpose of preserving the peace and order in the AdZU Community.

What we do:

CCTV Operations:

  • Conducting reviews, monitoring, and incident collection within the campuses.
  • Personnel trained and licensed by the Philippine Society of Industrial Security for CCTV Operations Systems, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
  • Collaboration with Joint Special Operations Task Forces Philippines and local ZC City Security Surveillance Units, involving capacity-building training for behavior profiling, threat identification, and close coordination with CITS, UCO for information dissemination, and system upgrades.

Incident Response and Investigation:

  • Assisting, responding to, and investigating occurrences of infractions of laws, guidelines, policies, and protocols, including loss control and pilferages.
  • Involvement in OPDA, DSA, and VPA cases, handled by trained Security Officers and Safety Officers 1 & 2.

Decal Sticker Management:

  • Issuing, collecting, and validating requirements for yearly University Decal Stickers.

Safety and Risk Audits:

  • Conducting regular safety, risk, and hazard audits to ensure secured campuses.
  • Developing security plans for events, institutional activities, and major university programs.
  • Collaborative partnerships with BFP (Bureau of Fire Protection) & ZCDRMO (Zamboanga City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office) for emergency response, involving trained Emergency Responders.

Social Development and Environmental Awareness:

    • Addressing other functionalities related to social development and environmental awareness that require the attention of the Security Office.

UNIT PLAN 2023-24 FOR SAFE AND SECURE CAMPUSES

    1. USO, along with partner law enforcement agencies, shall sustain its endeavor to educate security  guards in matters of crime prevention, customer care, traffic management, IED awareness, Disaster response, stress management  and well being.
    2. To train guards as first responders in coordination with RedCross certified BLS nurses on situations, crises, and incidents in the AdZU community.
    3. Shall empower,  train security guards in disaster, risk reduction and identifying occupational health hazards with lateral coordination with ZDRMO and PNP and BFP.
    4. To promote campus awareness through dialogues in the AdZU community of the university policies, protocols and other guidelines of the President of the university.
    5. Shall work with AdZU Center for Information Technology Services, Engineering, and Physical Plant Office on research, and study for available security tools that may enhance the security posture of the university in the future.
    6. Safety First, we strive to put the safety of our students as our top priority.
    7. We always seek innovative and creative ways to improve our security services.
