Ateneo Center for Environment and Sustainability

The ACES is guided by the UN Framework on Sustainable Development and as per the goals, ACES will have these four components in the thrust of bringing about Sustainable Development in the Zamboanga Peninsula.

Research Component

To develop and enhance CCA- DRM Resiliency Projects

Technical Services Component

To serve as the regional hub for Geo-spatial data and RS-GIS Training

Advocacy

To develop an integrated environmental Educational Advocacy Program of the university

Extension

To establish eco-systems based, sustainable and resilient communities

Advocacy Program

To develop an integrated environmental Educational Advocacy Program of the university

Summary of key functions:

Develop advocacy programs on environmental sustainability for the university
Planning and implementation of public awareness and advocacy campaigns
Production of advocacy and public information
materials.
Content management of ACES Webpage and Social Media Platforms
Media monitoring and reporting.

Extension Program

To establish Eco-systems based, Sustainable and Resilient Communities

Summary of key functions:

Establish environmental sustainability community extension programs for the university and adopted communities.
Planning and implementation of community outreach services and environmental preservation and protection programs.
Generate project proposal, module development and activity design for the community
extension program of the university and community partners.
Monitoring and Evaluation on the community implemented projects and involvement activities for the university and adopted communities.

Research and Technical Services Program

Determine areas for research on environment and disaster management
Systems and Application Development
Conduct of Trainings both internal and external audience
Development of Training Manuals
Technical Support and Services
Perform other duties and/or tasks assigned as maybe needed to complete the goals and targets of the component
