In a significant step towards empowering the youth of Northern Samar, the LEaP! Programme Team successfully conducted its Kick-Off Ceremony held at University of Eastern Philippines- Laoang Campus last March 27, 2025.
This momentous ceremony was made possible through partnerships with key stakeholders, including Provincial Youth Development Office of Northern Samar, the Local Government of Laoang, and Youth Development Alliance of the province.
The event marked the beginning of a comprehensive initiative designed to equip young Nortehanons with valuable knowledge, skills, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Through a series of engaging training sessions, workshops, and motivational talks, participants were inspired to take an active role in governance, civic engagement, and community service. The Learning to Earning Pathways (LEAP) Program was also launched, aiming to provide career and livelihood opportunities that can help shape the future of Northern Samar’s youth.
A Call to Action for the Youth
Resource speaker Sir Emil Ongchuan, a respected figure in his field, emphasized the crucial role that young people play in shaping the future of their communities. Through real-life examples and inspiring stories, he motivated participants to harness their potential, innovate, and lead initiatives that contribute to the progress of Northern Samar and the nation as a whole.
By encouraging attendees to take proactive steps in addressing social issues and advocating for positive change, the LEaP! Programme Team is fostering a new generation of responsible citizens who are equipped to make a meaningful difference in their communities. As the program continues to unfold, it is clear that the youth of Northern Samar are poised to become key drivers of progress and positive change in their province and beyond.
