RE: MINDANAO WEEK OF PEACE 2014
Presidential Proclamation No.127 issued in 2001 designates the last Thursday of November until the first Wednesday of December as the Mindanao Week of Peace (MWOP). This year, the celebration falls on November 27 to December 04.
In the Ateneo de Zamboanga University, the Ateneo Peace Institute takes the lead in initiating peace-related activities in coordination with the various academic units, and in integrating peace activities in the Ateneo Fiesta 2014.
As part of the larger community, AdZU upholds its commitment to peace and development of Zamboanga City and the rest of Mindanao through active participation and meaningful collaboration with others in peace advocacies and activities.
I, therefore, ask the support and cooperation of the Ateneo community in the celebration of the Mindanao Week of Peace 2014 as Zamboangueños and Mindanaons working toward a common goal : PAZ Y DESARROLLO (peace and development).
