It’s a 3-for-3 for ADU: AdZU Debaters
deemed Mindanao’s Best Speakers
The
Ateneo Debate Union (ADU) once again takes away another success in the 38th
Mindanao Parliamentary Debate Championship (MPDC) last 21 to 23 September 2018
at Bukidnon State University- just a few months following the Union’s
accomplishments in two previous debate cups in July and August.
ONE.
AdZU Team A, composed of Debra Ann Ponce (BS Accounting Technology IV) and Romel Delosa (BS Accountancy V), were Grand Finalists
and awarded Overall Best Speaker of Mindanao and
5th Best Speaker of Mindanao, respectively.
AdZU
Teams B and C, composed of Fiona Elisse Morales (BS Accountancy IV) and Joseph William Alcala (BS Accountancy V), and
Kathrina Gonzales (BS Psychology IV) and Christian Jorge Agudelo (BS Management Accounting IV), all passed the pre-quarter
finals.
ADU’s
breaking adjudicators, Mishaal Said (BS Nursing IV) and Jose Manuel Gomez (BS Business Administration I), are 9th Best Judge
and Semifinals Judge, and Quarterfinals Judge, respectively. ADU
also boasts of a full contingent break, with all participating teams and
competing adjudicators passing the elimination round.
TWO.
Recently, the Ateneo Debate Union was also triumphant in the 2ND Bangko Sentral
ng Pilipinas Zamboanga Intercollegiate Economic Debate Competition, and THREE,
the 11TH Visayas Mindanao Debate Championship, held within this semester.
Thus,
three successes in three consecutive months.
