Invitation and Call for Papers
The Ateneo de Zamboanga University (ADZU) through the Natural Science Department, College of Science and Information Technology (CSIT) is holding the 2nd Annual Scientific Research Symposium with this year’s theme “Basic Research: The Future of Science, Technology and Education” on September 16, 2010 at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, La Purisima Campus, Zamboanga City. This scientific forum is supported and endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED IX), Department of Science and Technology (DOST IX) and the Zamboanga Basilan Sulu Tawi-Tawi Association of Private Schools (ZAMBASULTAP). The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP), the leading scientific research body for the promotion and support of fundamental or basic research in the Philippines shall be giving this year’s key note address. The symposium will feature various pure science researches (as oral and poster papers) in the natural and allied sciences (biology, medicine, agriculture and biochemistry).
This year’s symposium is aimed in promoting basic research in the natural and allied sciences in Region IX by:
- providing a forum for presenting and sharing researches in the basic sciences from various academic, private and government institutions in Region IX
- sharing of current research directions
- establishing collaborations and linkages among participating students, researchers and institutions
