Anonymous Donor Gifts Php 500,000 to Support Lantaka Restoration Project

The Lantaka Restoration Project reached another milestone on April 11, 2026, with the generous donation of Php 500,000 from an anonymous donor, supporting the ongoing efforts to preserve and restore the cultural and historical legacy of the Lantaka Campus.

The donation, formally presented on behalf of the benefactor, will support the renovation of a heritage room within the campus. Envisioned as a space that connects the past and the future, the heritage room is being developed to honor the rich lineage and histories of Zamboangueño families while promoting cultural continuity and historical awareness.

Designed as a curated space for reflection and engagement, the heritage room will offer visitors an opportunity to connect more deeply with the stories, traditions, and identities that have shaped the community over generations. It also aims to serve as a venue for preserving and sharing Zamboanga’s legacy with future generations.

The partnership was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) by University President Fr. Ernald M. Andal, SJ, and Board of Trustees Member Ms. Silvie Bandiola-Agravante. While the donor has chosen to remain anonymous, a representative was present during the signing to affirm the shared commitment to heritage preservation and community memory.

Beyond its financial value, the donation reflects a commitment to the University’s mission of service and stewardship. By supporting the creation of a space dedicated to history and identity, the donor helps ensure that the values of gratitude, remembrance, and community remain central to the continued development of the Lantaka Campus.

This generous act serves as an investment in the stories that define the region and in a future where the legacy of Zamboanga continues to be shared with generations to come.
