The NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) Ear Acupuncture Detoxification on Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) conducted a follow up Ear Acupuncture Detoxification Treatment on July 25, 2014 at the Tulungatung Relocation Site in Zamboanga City. The IDPs in the Tulungatung Transitional site has been a recipient of the services since December 2013.

The clients served during the ear acudetox treatment mission were 81 Internally Displaced persons (IDPs) in the relocation site. There were 7 trained Acupuncture Detoxification Specialists (ADS) of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University who administered the treatment- (3) College Guidance counselors, (1) High School staff, (1) College of Nursing Clinical Instructor, (1) Infirmary staff and (2) CCES staff. They underwent a special training on the NADA Protocol under the NADA Philippines on Dec. 2-7, 2013.

The goal of the event was to provide free NADA protocol and ear acupuncture services to the survivors of the man-made and natural disasters in Zamboanga City that caused damage to life and property, resulted in stress and trauma, grief and depression of both the adults and the young. Ear acupuncture has been used and found effective in various settings and with different special populations: urban poor communities, disaster stricken areas – evacuation and relocation sites, female jail, rehabilitation and residential centers for addicts, abused children, special education centers for children with disabilities, ADD/ADHD, elderly and the cancer-stricken/survivors.
