The Center for Community Extension Services (CCES) took a proactive step in revitalizing the Mosalag Tilapia Production Livelihood Project by conducting a consultation meeting with the eight members of the Mosalag Tilapia Fish Pond Growers on March 7, 2025, at the Mosalag Tribal Hall. The session aimed to address challenges faced by the growers and develop strategic solutions to sustain and enhance their tilapia production.
The meeting began with a reflective check-in, where participants shared their insights, emotions, and experiences regarding the project. This approach fostered a strong sense of connection and created an open environment for collaborative discussions. Members actively identified key obstacles and explored community-driven solutions to improve tilapia farming practices.

Throughout the discussion, growers raised concerns about pond maintenance, resource limitations, and market access. In response, the group collectively formulated an action plan focused on rehabilitating the pond and implementing sustainable aquaculture techniques. Their enthusiasm and commitment underscored the vital role of community collaboration in ensuring the project’s long-term success.
A major outcome of the meeting was the members’ decision to dedicate voluntary work every Saturday for pond restoration and upkeep. This collective effort demonstrates their strong commitment to sustaining and expanding the livelihood project, reinforcing the value of shared responsibility and teamwork.
To track progress, the group agreed to share updates through weekend progress photos and scheduled a follow-up meeting to outline the next steps. Their energy and dedication throughout the session were truly inspiring, highlighting their determination to make the project thrive.
Through initiatives like this, CCES remains committed to supporting community-led economic projects, ensuring that sustainable livelihood opportunities continue to uplift local communities. With strong community engagement and structured support, the Mosalag Tilapia Fish Pond Growers are set to achieve greater productivity and economic stability in the coming months.
