The year 2013 was plagued with national disasters of unimaginable proportions. In September, we saw the displacements of more than 100,000 in the wake of the Zamboanga siege. In October, a severe earthquake hit Bohol and destroyed or damaged 367,760 homes, not to mention the destruction of infrastructures and the loss of 209 lives. In November, super typhoon Yolanda struck the Visayas and claimed the lives of 6,268 with 1,061 missing and more than 100,000 families reportedly homeless.
