AdZU Law stands third in National Moot Court Competition
AdZU College of Law placed third in the recently concluded National Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law-Role Play Challenge. The event was organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Philippine Red Cross.
Coached by Atty. Elias Omar Sana, one of the most respected law professors in AdZU, Ahmad Rais Undug and Earl Larroder, sophomore students of the College of Law, represented AdZU during the five-day competition held at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) and the Court of Appeals (CA)last October 19 to 23, 2015. The AdZU team competed against 15 other delegates from some of the country’s notable law schools including the University of the Philippines College of Law, Ateneo de Manila University Law School, and Far Eastern University Institute of Law, among others.
The Role-Play Challenge required the participating teams to apply the different principles of the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) in hypothetical situations. The AdZU Team garnered an average of 82.33 and placed third. The Ateneo de Manila University bagged second while the University of Batangas was hailed champion.
This is the tenth year ofthe National Moot Court Competition and AdZU’s first time to send representatives.
