Zamboanga City, January 29, 2024 – Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) achieved another milestone in its pursuit of academic excellence with the official blessing of the Benjamin Lim Go Learning Center and the Office of Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (ALTEC). The ceremony occurred on January 29, 2024, from 9 AM to 11 AM, at the AdZU Lantaka Campus.
University President Fr. Ernald Andal, SJ, alongside Assistant to the President for Administration Fr. Richard Ella, SJ, led the ceremonial rites. The blessing ceremony was graced by the presence of the family of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lim Go, the benefactors of the facility. Also in attendance were key figures including administrators of the university, the Dean of AdZU School of Education SEd), Dr. Dorothy Joann Lei Labrador Rabajante, AdZU Grade School Principal Ms. Elena B. Segurigan, and Dr. Anton Mari Lim, Co-Founder and President of the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation, and Ligaya B. Piamonte of the Mindanao Educators Mutual Benefit Association (MEMBA).
Educators from various institutions, such as Simariki School of Indigenous Peoples, Monte Central Patalon, School Principals of Baliwasan Central School SPED Center, and San Jose Gusu Elementary School, participated in the event. Representatives of partner youth-serving organizations also attended the blessing ceremony.
The ceremony featured the blessing of both the Learning Center and the ALTEC office, with a program that included inspirational messages from key figures such as Mr. Rogin Eribal, Director of ALTEC, and University President, Fr. Ernald Andal, SJ, Mr. Bryan Go, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lim Go, and AdZU SEd Dean Dr. Dorothy Joann Lei Labrador Rabrajante.
