FROM LEARNING TO EARNING | AdZU, National Youth Commission Ink MOA for Learning to Earning Pathways (LEaP!) Programme for Young People

On January 13, 2026, Ateneo de Zamboanga University formalized its partnership with the National Youth Commission through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement for the Learning to Earning Pathways (LEaP!) Programme for Young People. The agreement strengthens coordination between AdZU and NYC in supporting Filipino youth as they transition from education to employment, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement.

The MOA was signed by AdZU President Fr. Guillrey Anthony “Ernald” M. Andal, SJ, represented by Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center Director Mr. Rogin Eribal, and NYC Chairperson Usec. Joseph Francisco “Jeff” Ortega. Also present during the signing were NYC Commissioner for Luzon Asec. Gervy James N. Gumarit, UNICEF Philippines OIC Country Representative Mr. Behzad Noubary, along with representatives from partner institutions and programme stakeholders. The ceremony formalized an ongoing collaboration that connects local academic initiatives with national youth development efforts.

Through the LEaP! Programme, youth-serving organizations within the AdZU network will continue to access structured capacity-building activities, project implementation grants, and free, verified micro-courses designed to strengthen both individual competencies and organizational readiness. These components aim to support young people in building practical skills while encouraging responsible participation in their communities.

For Ateneo de Zamboanga University, this partnership reflects a sustained commitment to formation in faith and service, expressed through meaningful community engagement. By aligning its educational mission with national youth development priorities, AdZU contributes to building pathways that are not only accessible, but guided and intentional—accompanying young people as they navigate transitions from learning to earning and toward active citizenship. In this shared work, the University remains rooted in its call to form persons for and with others.
