RE: ATENEO HS SENIOR AMONG 2014 TEN OUTSTANDING BOY SCOUTS OF THE PHILIPPINES
Jericho C. Ortega, a fourth year high school student, was awarded as one of the Ten Outstanding Boy Scouts of the Philippines in a ceremony held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila on October 17, 2014. He is the first winner from Ateneo de Zamboanga, and the second winner from Zamboanga, since the search started 25 years ago.
The annual search is the biggest event in the Scouting calendar for the country’s millions of scouts. The search aims to recognize Scouts with sterling achievements in community leadership, academic excellence, and good moral conduct.
Jericho was among the top 4 finalists in the Community Service Award for exceptional project in the community. He was also given the special privilege of delivering the response on behalf of the national finalists and winners.
He received a medallion, trophy, monetary reward, and a two-year college scholarship. He is the son of Atty. Jose Rizalino Ortega, the AdZUHS PTA President, and Mrs Cheryl Camenforte-Ortega.
We congratulate Jericho, his parents and the Ateneo High School community for this wonderful achievement.
