State of Philippine Corruption and the Corona Impeachment

In line with the celebration of the Ehem! 10th Year Anniversary, the Ateneo Center for Leadership and Governance (ACLG) hosted a round table discussion for Zamboanga Ehem! Champions and AdZU community. This discussion was entitled, “State of Philippine Corruption and the Corona Impeachment”.

Dr. Ronnie V. Amorado, the speaker of the said discussion is a governance and anticorruption specialist. He is also the National Coordinator of the Ehem! Anticorruption Project of the Philippine province of the Society of Jesus. He authored and co-authored several anticorruption books like Fixing Society (2007) which won the 2008 Outstanding Book Award given by the National Academy of Science and Technology.

Dr. Amorado discussed the trends and updates of corruption in the country and its implication on the country’s economy and political situation. He also presented the latest data from the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) of the Transparency International and the relationship of these data with the country’s corruption scandals, including the Corona impeachment.

This discussion was held on the 5th day of March 2012, 5-7:30pm at the LRC Conference Room, Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
