Marking a pivotal transition from formation to service, the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU), through its Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement (SACSI) Office, celebrated the transformative journey of its National Service Training Program (NSTP) graduates during “Synergy: Companions in the Journey of Purpose — NSTP Graduation 2026” held on May 16, 2026.

The event highlighted how the NSTP continues to shape students into active contributors to society through community engagement, leadership formation, volunteerism, and nation-building initiatives. Rooted in the values of service, solidarity, and compassion, the graduation ceremony recognized the achievements and meaningful contributions of students under the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Literacy Training Service (LTS).

Organized by the Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement (SACSI) Office together with NSTP formators, facilitators, volunteers, and university partners, the gathering served not only as a culmination of the students’ NSTP journey but also as a reaffirmation of AdZU’s mission of forming persons for others.

In his opening remarks, CWTS Coornidator Mr. Rhadz-Maynur Dammang, reminded graduates that NSTP experience extended far beyond classroom requirements and attendance.
“Because NSTP was never just about requirements or attendance. It was where you learned how to work with people, be patient, take responsibility, and serve others even in simple ways. And somehow, those simple efforts turned into meaningful experiences,” the speaker shared.

Throughout the academic year, students immersed themselves in various community-centered programs and activities that strengthened their sense of social responsibility, discipline, empathy, and commitment to service. The ceremony celebrated these experiences as milestones that helped shape students into compassionate leaders capable of creating meaningful impact within their communities.

The program concluded with a message from the LTS Coordinator Ms. Razie Degusman-Golles, emphasizing the collective spirit of service that defined the graduates’ NSTP journey.

“True service becomes more meaningful when people work together with one goal and one heart for the betterment of the community,” the closing message stated. “As you move forward, may the values of service, excellence, leadership, and being persons for others continue to guide you as true Ateneans committed to building communities through compassion and shared purpose.”
AdZU continues to strengthen its role in developing empowered and mission-driven individuals who embody Ignatian values and contribute meaningfully to nation-building and community development.
