The Social Sciences Department of the School of Liberal Arts, through its Sociology-Anthropology (So-An) 101 classes and in coordination with the Ateneo Peace and Culture Institute, will hold the 1st “Cultural Appreciation and Solidarity for Peace” program with the theme “Revisiting and Celebrating Western Mindanao Cultures”.
The said event, set to highlight the the various tribes of Western Mindanao through cultural performances and exhibits, will be held on September 26, 2009 (Saturday) at 1:00 PM at the MPCC, AdZU La Purisima Campus.
This cultural fest is a two-part celebration to be participated in by all So-An 101 classes of the first semester of School Year 2009-2010.
The success of such an important component in the study of cultures among the AdZU students is crucial in the end goal of a greater awareness and deeper appreciation of the different cultures in Western Mindanao.
The Social Sciences Department of SLA invites the parents of AdZU students and members of the AdZU community to take part in this humble effort for cultural solidarity and peace.
