November 2018

MEMO
TO:      THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

RE:    RECONSTITUTION OF
UNIVERSITY RESEARCH AND PUBLICATION

  COUNCIL

Corollary
to the reorganization of the different research units to streamline and strengthen
our research thrusts (MEMO 18-19: 11), I am reconstituting the University
Research and Publication Council (URPC), the highest policy making body for all
university engagements in research and publication. The council’s functions
shall include, among others, the following:

• Set
the University Research Agenda based on the University Strategic Plan

  (ADZUSTRATPLAN
17/22);

• Craft
policies for research and publication for the approval of the President,

   based
on the research agenda;

• Plan
and implement processes to promote research like mentoring,

   supervision, and
training;

• Review
and approve proposals and projects submitted by faculty and staff;

   and,

• Supervise
the University Research Office (URO), the Asia Mindanaw Journal,

  and the AdZU
Research Ethics Committee
