RE: PSQ NATIONAL CHAMPION
I am happy to inform the community that Mr Andre G Arpa, a BS Accountancy student, bested the representatives from other regions to emerge as champion in the Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) 2014 held last December 09 at the Toyota Asian Center Auditorium in Diliman, Quezon City.
The PSQ is an annual competition which aims to appraise the competency and skills of college freshmen in statistics as acquired from high school. The Philippine Statistics Authority and the Philippine Statistical Association, Inc. organized this noble undertaking in 1992 with the advocacy of drumming up public awareness and appreciation of statistics. The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) began endorsing this competition in 1994.
Mr Arpa is AdZU’S third national PSQ champion. Mr Abdel Aziz Alfad bagged the title in 2009, and Mr Efren Medallo in 2011.
Cogratulations to Mr Arpa and to his coach, Ms Daisy Quisel of the Mathematics Department, School of Arts and Sciences.
