MEMO TO: THE ATENEO COMMUNITY
RE: NEW ATENEO PEACE AND CULTURE INSTITUTE (APCI) DIRECTOR
I am pleased to inform you that I am appointing Mr Aryameir B Ismael as the new APCI Director from 01 April 2011 until 31 March 2012. Mr Ismael succeeds Ms Cecile B Simbajon as the Director of APCI (formerly the Ateneo Peace Institute until it merged with the Institute of Cultural Studies for Western Mindanao).
I would like to thank Ms Simbajon for her competent leadership of APCI for 7 years. During her leadership, peace education and advocacy became a centerpiece in the thrust of the university and our engagements with peace groups and organizations grew extensively.
I thank Mr Ismael for making himself available for this crucial position.
