Congressman Baguilat visits Zamboanga City

Incumbent Ifugao Representative, Hon. Teddy B. Baguilat, Jr. makes his second visit to La Bella Zamboanga.His visit is part of Ateneo de Zamboanga University’s observance of 2011 as the Year of Citizenship with the theme:Ateneo, duyan ka ng magiting”. The University with humble pride invites ethical leaders of our country to grace our city as a hopeful message to all of us that we can choose to make our mother country great again, last month former governor of Isabela, Ms Grace Padaca came over.

The visit of Cong Teddy dubbed asIn Focus: The Indigenous Peoples Agenda. Being an environmentalist, he is the principal proponent of the Forest Resource Bill pending in congress, as well as, one of the proponents of the Alternative Mining Bill. He is very much a Kaya Natin champion, championing the cause for the Indigenous Peoples.

For the next three days, November 4 – 6, 2011 he will have the opportunity to converse with varied groups in the city: ADZU HS community, professionals (academe, gov’t, NGO, PO), youth sector and Subanen community. And in partnership with Philippine Navy – Western Mindanao Command a mangrove planting/coastal clean-up activity will be held in Small Sta. Cruz Island. This activity will be for a Cause. Proceeds will be forwarded to the Save the Ifugao Terraces Movement (SITMo).The invitation though spearheaded by the ADZU High School is in partnership with the Social Development Council of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
