Atenean Student Leader and Peace Activist Comes Home from 16th AYLC

Ms Shalini Kristy S. Dalis, BS Accountancy 4, represented Ateneo de Zamboanga University to the 16th National Ayala Young Leaders Congress on February 11-14 2014 at the San Miguel Corporation Management Training Center, Alfonso Cavite.

The AYLC brings together 81 of the most promising student leaders from colleges and universities from all over the country. The congress is a four-day summit involving workshops, lectures, outdoor activities, plenary sessions, and discussions designed to hone the students’ leadership skills and potentials. It serves as a keystone of “Shaping Tomorrow’s Leaders”. It was launched in 1998 by the Ayala Corporation as a way of committing to national development. This event is also based on the belief that “quality education and values-based leadership formation go hand in hand to equip Filipino Youth for their present and future role in nation-building”. AYLC also desires to help in contributing to the development of empowered servant leaders and agents of change over time.

Shalini hopes to impart the lessons on servant leadership she learned in the congress to the other student leaders in Ateneo. If you wish to know more about her experience, you can usually find her at the El Consejo Atenista Office or the Ateneo Peace and Culture Institute.
