MEMO TO : THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY

RE : APPOINTMENT OF FR KOKO PARILLA AS SHS CHAPLAIN AND ASSISTANT
COLLEGE CHAPLAIN

I am happy to inform the community of the appointment of FR FRANCISCO SABIO PARILLA SJ as the Chaplain for Senior High School and Assistant Chaplain for the Colleges.

Fr Koko is from Cagayan de Oro City, and an alumnus of the Xavier University High School and Xavier University College (class of 2001) where he obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. He entered the Society of Jesus soon after college, and was ordained in 2013.

As SHS chaplain, he shall help with the design and implementation of the Formation Program of the Senior High School in coordination with the SHS Principal, Director of Student Services, and the Assistant to the President for Formation.

Also, Fr Koko shall closely work with Fr Willy Samson SJ, as Assistant College Chaplain, in implementing college formation programs and in the training and formation of lay staff as resource persons and facilitators for formation activities (e.g. spiritual direction, supervision).

Aside from presiding in masses and other sacraments for the college community, he is also expected to give talks, recollections, retreats to students, faculty, and staff, and shall be available for individual or group conversations and counseling.

We warmly welcome Fr Koko, and I ask the community for prayers and support in his new assignment.

Thank you.

FR KAREL S SAN JUAN SJ

University President
