#ADZUCONTRACOVID19 UPDATE | More help on the way for the City’s frontliners

In its continuous efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19, AdZU’s Natural Sciences Department produced 70% ethyl alcohol solution for use as disinfectant.

The solution, which has received FDA-Recommendation and DOST-Certification, has been donated to City Government and distributed among frontliners in the field. City Mayor Beng Climaco, in an FB post, expressed her gratitude to AdZU and AdZU president Fr Karel San Juan, SJ, for donating liters of the solution which was used for disinfection at the main entrance of City Hall.

The team of chemists and lab technicians, led by Natural Sciences Department Chairperson Ma Adeliza F Deles, is composed of Dr Teresita G Montaño, Engr Aldrin A Hitalia, Roselita Natividad, and Mario Rodriguez with the assistance of Laboratory Technicians Mary Ann Filoteo, Joel Quintanes, and Christine Atilano, the Science Laboratories of the Junior and Senior High Schools, and University Custodian Ariel Delgado. The University also thanks Board of Trustees Vice-Chair Pocholo Soliven for helping secure the needed materials.

AdZU will be producing more of the disinfecting solution once it obtains the difficult-to-access raw materials.
