AdZU ranks 4th in 2017 CPA board, completes 3-Peat Top Recognition

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University is recognized by the Professional
Regulation Commission (PRC) as Top 4 Performing School in the Certified Public
Accountant Licensure Examination held October 2017 in the cities of Manila,
Baguio, Cagayan De Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, and
Tuguegarao. The Top Performing Schools in the CPA Board Exam was determined in
relation to Commission Resolution No. 2010-547 series of 2010: With 50 or more
examinees and with at least 80% passing percentage.

This
is the third year that the University has received recognition from the PRC for
being a Top Performing Schools in the CPA Licensure Exams. It will be recalled
that the University also ranked 4th in 2016 and 6th in 2015.

In its official announcement, PRC reveals that 4,511 out of
14,816 passed this year’s Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination
giving it a National Passing Rate of 30.45%. Ateneo de Zamboanga University on the
other hand fared well with an Overall Passing Rate of 80.39% (41/51) and a
Batch Passing Rate of 86.96% (40/46), landing it in 4th Place.

John Carlos Wee expressed his sincere gratitude to University President Fr Karel San Juan, SJ, School of Management and
Accountancy faculty and staff, headed by Dean Maynard R Bagtasos
, Assistant to the President for Quality Assurance &
Leadership Development Dr Rebecca V Fernandez PhD, Executive Assistant to the
President Renee Vieve-Vecina Kanindot, Academic Vice President Dr Evelyn
Chavez, the administration, and the entire AdZU Community for the support it
gave the department and the examinees.

The reviewees with some of the alumni/faculty of the Ateneo. The practice of AdZU Alumni-CPAs and SMA faculty members visiting the reviewees has been a tradition in the Ateneo as a way of showing support to those who will be taking the Boards.
