The Campus Ministry Office, in coordination with the Christian Life Community (CLC), continues to promote excellence, spirituality and citizenship among the faculty and staff and students of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University through different activities. One of the traditional activities conducted this year was the St. Ignatius Week 2012. It was held on July 23-30, 2012 with the theme “Rekindle the Fire of Excellence, Spirituality and Citizenship in us,” a week before July 31, the feast day St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of Society of Jesus.
During the celebration, the following activities were conducted:
St. Ignatius Exhibit at the College lobby and Catwalk which aimed to increase the awareness of the ADZU faculty, staff and students on the life, teachings and spirituality of St. Ignatius;
A Conversation with St. Ignatius whereparticipants from the Alliance of Religious Organizations (ARO) as well as some selected Philosophy classes gathered. It was held last July 23 and 24, 2012 at the College AVR. The speaker was Bro. Jereme I. Asunto, SJ;
Daily Mass and Novena Prayer to St. Ignatius, sponsored by the Religious Studies (RS), Philosophy and Freshman Formation Program (FFP) classes, at the University Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (UCSHJ) at 12:00 PM which aimed to deepen the spiritual life of the faculty and staff and students through the appreciation of Sacred Liturgy;
and Night of Music and Prayer which was held on July 26, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM at the UCSHJ. Participants were from selected RS classes and ARO. The facilitators were Bro. Jereme I. Asunto, SJ and Bro. Armand Samonte, SJ.
Other activities were the Essay Writing Contest, Prayer Writing Contest, Poster Making Contest, and the St. Ignatius Quiz Bowl. The following are the winners of these contests:
