The long-awaited Ateneo de Zamboanga University Concert Band performance in Davao City will take place this Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Ateneo Sports Complex in Matina.
The 47-piece ADZU concert band departs for Davao on September 3, in time for two marching exhibitions at the Ateneo de Davao University (ADDU) Main Campus and the Ateneo Matina grounds.
Band master Polly Enriquez revealed they are scheduled to perform 16 pieces during the concert, two of which will be with the famed “Carillon”, the Ateneo de Davao University Glee Club. The performances will be at 3 pm and 7 pm.
Dubbed “Classic Meets Rock” the concert aims to raise funds for the band.
The concert is a joint effort of the presidents of ADZU and ADDU, Fr. Antonio Moreno SJ and Fr. Antonio Samson SJ respectively.
Assisting band master Enriquez is Joji Turno as artistic director. Heading the delegation is Office of Student Affairs director, Francis Jay Lllenado.
Enriquez said that the ADZU concert band will take its music to Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro on November 25, 2009.
