AdZU ARO hosts symposium to welcome the holy month of Ramadan

The Alliance of Religious Organizations (ARO) of the Campus Ministry Office and the Muslim Student Association (MSA) under the umbrella of ARO, hosted a simple pre-Ramadan symposium in preparation for the Holy month of Ramadan. This year’s theme was “What is Ramadan and why do we fast?”. The said activity was held on July 03, 2013, at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Fr. Salvador Eusebio Campus, La Purisima St. Zamboanga City.

SHEIK LODERSON GUSTAHAM, Chairman, of the Federation of Muslim Student Association, gave a very insightful and inspiring talk about the significance of fasting and prayer during the Holy month of Ramadan. He also shared the importance of Ramadan in the lives of our Muslim brothers and Sisters. About 250 invited students from the different RS, Philo, FFP classes and some invited ADZU faculty and staff joined in the celebration of the Welcoming Ramadan. After the symposium a simple snacks of sumptuous “Muslim Delicacies” which they call “bang” were served to the participants.
