The El Consejo Atenista, in partnership with the Gender and Development Program under SACSI and Ateneo Center for Culture and the Arts (ACCA), has prepared activities for the duration of the Pride Month with a goal of raising awareness and acknowledgement, promoting acceptance and appreciation of the community – plus awareness about the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression (SOGIE) bill.
On June 29, 2019, from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, around a hundred individuals will engage in ORGULLO: An Awareness Exhibition with theme of “Looking Back with Pride, Moving Forward with Love”.
This activity will further their understanding of the LGBT community and the SOGIE bill. Also, this is to acknowledge the craft of the different artists in the exhibit, we will be displaying it at the College Lobby from June 29, 2019 until July 6, 2019.
Below are the guidelines for ORGULLO: An Awareness Exhibition:
1. The ORGULLO: An Awareness Exhibition is open to all individuals residing in Zamboanga City.
2. The exhibit will run from June 29 to July 6, 2019 at the College Lobby, Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
3. The artworks must reflect the colorful and diverse culture of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression that shows pride and power.4. An artist may submit any form of visual art: paintings (oil/watercolor/digital prints), photography, sculpture, installation art or mixed media.
5. Paintings, prints and photos must be framed and ready for hanging.
6. Nudity, sacrilegious, and scandalous images are not allowed in the exhibition.
7. Applicants must submit a fully accomplished application form attached with sample photos of their artworks. An artist may submit up to 5 artworks, but only 3 shall be included in the exhibit.
8. Application forms and photos shall be submitted online via email to velardebyrt@host.adzu.edu.ph/revamp with subject line: Orgullo: An Awareness Exhibition Application – Family Name.

9. Deadline for application is on June 22,2019, 12 noon. A screening committee will identify which artworks will be included in the curated exhibit and will immediately inform the artist via SMS and email.
10. Selected artworks should be delivered on June 24-25, 2019 at the El Consejo Atenista Office (XH 104), Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Zamboanga City. For identification, artworks must be labeled with the following: title, medium, size, name of artist, and year of creation.
11. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on June 29, 2019, 1:00 PM at the College Lobby, Ateneo de Zamboanga University, Zamboanga City.
12. Artists will be given a certificate of participation during the short program.
