The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Alumni Association, together with the Alumni Relations Office and in cooperation with the College of Nursing, sponsored a medical and dental mission at Barangay Baluno last July 24, 2018 from 8 am – 3 pm.
The team was led by Lourdes Grace M Antolihao, AdZUAA BOT member and a faculty of the College of Nursing; BOT members Amado G Angeles and Raymund Jay P Siasico, clinical instructors Rowena P Mendez and Hazel S Inzo; Dr Ma Eileen B Ruste, MD from the Philippine Red Cross , ZC Chapter with Edelyn C Arguelles and Jon Major C Wee, 4th year AdZU SOM medical students; Dr Mary Joy R Feliciano, DMD University dentist Dr Romulus Vir F Uy, DMD JHS dentist Dr Jose Bruno E Galvez, DMD volunteer dentist Conrado Z Balatbat, Convenor & OIC ARO Director.
This activity is part of the association’s outreach program and pursuit to “go to the peripheries”. A few months prior to this, alumni and ARO staff have sponsored an “Operation Tuli” in the same barangay and also distributed used textbooks, magazines, and other reading materials to a number of schools from far-flung areas in the city such as Limpapa NHS, Tictapul NHS, Baluno NHS, and Dulian Elementary School in Upper Bungiao.
