SPOTTED: AdZU Alumni take over National Media

The future is now as AdZU alumni command media in active pursuit of truth and information.

Mr David Santos, a true-blue Atenean (AdZU Grade School Batch ’90, AdZU High School Batch ’94, AdZU College Batch ’98), was spotted last August 15, 2018 on CNN Philippines as the Senior Correspondent of Newsroom Philippines. Graduated with a degree in Mass Communication, Santos was awarded Most Outstanding Grade School Silver Jubilarian last 2015.

Awarded the same honor for the High School Silver Jubilarians in the same year, Mr Daxim Lucas (AdZU Grade School Batch ’86, AdZU High School Batch ’90) was spotted in a Philippine Daily Inquirer news article last August 14, 2018, as he interviewed Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno at Inquirer’s main office in Makati City.

Continuing the mission of social involvement, another Atenean, AdZU BA Comm alumnus Xeph Suarez, received the Best Director award at the Cinemalaya 2018 for his film Si Astri Maka si Tambula. The film, which garnered international acclaim, is a tragic love story exploring different political and social issues present in Mindanao.

AdZU is proud of our alumni’s strong commitment to be men and women for others as they advocate for active citizenship through responsible information dissemination and progress among diverse communities.
