The Ateneo de Zamboanga University through the Ateneo Research Center will be hosting a National Conference entitled “Research in the Times of Change: A National Conference on the Role of Research in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.” The conference will be held on February 2016 in Zamboanga City.
The conference aims to bring together academic and research institutions, local government units, non-government institutions and international aid agencies to:
· familiarize participants with contemporary concepts and practices in disaster and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM);
· share research findings, responses and best practices on disasters in areas of prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response and rehabilitation; and to
· provide an avenue for dialogue among the different sectors and the local governments on how they can work together to build resilient communities.
