St. Ignatius Week 2012
The Campus Ministry office in coordination with the Christian Life community continues to promote excellence, spirituality and citizenship among the faculty and staff and students of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University through different activities. One of the yearly activities was the St. Ignatius Week. This year, we celebrated it from July 23-30, 2012 with the theme “Rekindle the Fire of Excellence, Spirituality and Citizenship in Us” in preparation for the feast day St. Ignatius.
During the celebration we had the following activities:
1. St. Ignatius Exhibit at the College lobby and Catwalk, this is to increase the awareness of our faculty, staff and students on the life, teachings and spirituality of St. Ignatius.
2. A Conversation with St. Ignatius, participants were from the Alliance of Religious Organizations (ARO) members and aspirants as well as some selected Philosophy classes. It was held last July 23 & 24, 2012 at the CO AVR, Ateneo de Zambonaga University. The speaker was Bro. Jereme I. Asunto, SJ.
3. Daily Mass and Novena Prayer to St. Ignatius at the University Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (UCSHJ) every 12:00PM. Aims to deepen the spiritual life of the faculty and staff and students through the appreciation of sacred Liturgy. This was sponsored by the RS, Philosophy and FFP classes.
4. Night of Music and Prayer which was held last July 26, 2012 from 6:00PM until 7:30PM at the UCSHJ. Participants were selected RS classes, ARO members and aspirants, but the activity was open to everyone. The facilitators were Bro. Jereme I. Asunto, SJ and Bro. Armand Samonte, SJ.
5. Others activities were the Essay Writing Contest, Prayer Writing Contest, Poster Making Contest, and the St. Ignatius Quiz Bowl. Participated by the RS, Philo and FFP classes.
