Social Sciences Department to Launch Lecture Series

To start this year’s lecture series, the Chair of the Social Sciences Department Dr. Rey Remotin announces the holding of a public talk on Mindanao History entitled :  “From Armed to Parliamentary Struggle:  Aspects of Moro Separatism.”  The talk will be held on August 12 at 3:00 PM at the LRC Conference Room and is open to the AdZU Community and the public.
The speaker of the talk Mr. Hezekiah Concepcion, a faculty of the Social Sciences Department, will address key issues related to the  Mindanao conflict such  as  American interests,  national integration and Moro right to self-determination.  Mr. Concepcion will also present a video documentary on Moro Ancestral Domain to supplement the discussion.

Mr Concepcion has served as a resource person on the history of Muslim Filipinos to parish workers, members of the armed forces and  the academe  in  the past.

This lecture series is the Social Sciences’ contribution to the university’s intellectual leadership direction in the region by holding a series of talk-discussion where faculty representing the History, Political Science, Economics, Humanities, Sociology and Anthropology disciplines invite the community and the public to engage in scholarly discussions on relevant issues.
