Dipolog City, Philippines – The Philippine Red Cross – Zamboanga del Norte Chapter concluded their 2-day interactive training program, JUMPSTART, aimed at empowering thirty underserved youth from the province of Zamboanga Del Norte. Held from November 6-7, 2023, at the 3rd floor Training Hall, Provincial Tourism Complex, Estaka Dipolog City, the program was followed by a 3-day work immersion program from November 8-10, 2023.
In collaboration with key partners including Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (ALTEC), SUGPAT Program, UNICEF Philippines, SAP, GENERATION UNLIMITED, and YOMA, the Red Cross Youth – Zamboanga del Norte Chapter spearheaded the initiative to equip youth with leadership skills and practical work experience.
The training contained sessions such as the Youth Volunteer Orientation Course, Leadership Formation Course, Basic Leadership Training, and Team Building Activities. Participants then engaged in a work immersion program to gain real-life insights into employment scenarios, facilitated by partners from Sebio Educational Supply and Matty’s Pension House.
The Philippine Red Cross – Zamboanga del Norte Chapter’s best practices, including thorough needs assessment and clear objectives, coupled with team-building activities, ensured a conducive learning environment. The dedication of the project team, competent speakers, and facilitators played a pivotal role in the program’s success. Their preparation and planning fostered the participants’ growth in leadership skills, interpersonal development, and provided a platform for further personal and professional growth.
