Ateneo de Zamboanga University expresses serious concern over the prolonged power outages affecting many parts of Zamboanga City.
Many within our own community, our students, faculty, staff, service workers, and their families, are directly affected. We stand as well with the many Zamboangueños whose work, health, and daily life are under serious strain, especially those whose voices are least heard when systems fail.
We call on ZAMCELCO and the relevant authorities to provide clear and regular public updates, realistic restoration timelines, and concrete steps to reduce the risk of similar disruptions in the future. Reliable electricity is part of what allows families and communities to live with dignity.
