MEMO TO: THE ADZU COMMUNITY
RE: MERGING OF THE SCHOOL OF LIBERAL ARTS AND THE COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
After making consultations of parties concerned and with the consent
of the AdZU Board of Trustees, I am announcing the merging of the
School of Liberal Arts (SLA) and the College of Science and
Information Technology as one unit effective 01 April 2013. This unit
shall then be known as the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS)
under the leadership of Dr Claribel C Concepcion until her term ends on
31 March 2015. SAS will henceforth include the graduate Arts and
Sciences programs.
An Associate Dean (AD) to handle the programs, faculty and staff
under CSIT will be selected through a search process in due time. A
job description will likewise be made to define AD’s level of governance
and responsibility.
This arrangement is provisional and subject to assessment before the new school year ends.
I wish to thank Dr Paulino T Acebes Jr for his leadership of three years at CSIT.
I congratulate and thank Dr Concepcion for making herself available to assume this big responsibility.
