Ateneo de Zamboanga University continues to uphold its quality education mantra as the Commission on Higher Education designates the College of Science and Information Technology as a Center of Development for Information Technology in the Zamboanga Peninsula Region. This is in pursuant to CHED Memorandum Order No. 38 series of 2015, released last December 23, 2015.

CSIT’s designation as COD for Information Technology is effective for three years, from January 1, 2016 to December 31, 2018. This prestigious recognition is given to higher education institutions in the country that constantly demonstrate high caliber performance in the areas of instruction, research and publication, extension and linkages, and institutional qualifications.

“I congratulate and thank the CSIT administrators, faculty, staff and students, especially its dean, Dr. Rochello Mariano, and the Computer Science Department led by the Chair, Romeo Rabajante Jr,” said AdZU President Fr. Karel San Juan, SJ.

CSIT’s academic commitment is to provide students with foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects in computer science and information technology through skillful professors and advanced facilities.

Rabajante disclosed that apart from equipping their students with theories and skills on IT advancements, it is also their responsibility to mentor different schools in the region in terms of technological progress.
