CPVA to sponsor Bobit Navarro’s Chavacano Mini-Concert

The Center for Performing and Visual Arts (CPVA) will spearhead a Chavacano Mini-Concert entitled ‘30 Anyos de Chavacano: Maga Musica y Amor de Senyor “Bobit” Navarro’ on October 9, 2009, 3:00 – 4:30 PM at the Bellarmine Campion Lobby, Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

Mr. Ramon “Bobit” Navarro is the composer of the Ateneo Chavacano Hymn, “Animo Ateneo” and some popular Chavacano songs like Aire de Zamboanga, Malo Mucho Vicio, among others. He is the 9th child of Dr. and Mrs. Gonzalo Navarro.

Being a blue-blooded Atenean, Mr. Navarro spent his grade school years in ADZU in 1972, high school in 1976 and college in 1980 with the course BSBA major in Management.

He was a member of the following singing groups: 1977 – The Full Moon People and The Doctrine of Ethos; 1978 – Temato Social Clan, and in 1979 – The Major Chords. Presently, he is living a simple life in Chicago, USA.

The mini concert is free admission.
