RE : ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT FOR SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT



I am
happy to announce the appointment of JOHN
MAYO ENRIQUEZ
as 
Assistant to the President for Social
Development 
effective 3 January 2018 to 31 March 2019. He
recently completed his Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Asian
Institute of Management in Makati. 

 He
joined the Social Awareness and Community Service Involvement Office in 2011 as
program officer/formator and served as its Director for three years (May, 2013
–March, 2016). He was Overall Chair of the Ateneo Fiesta 2015.

 He
played a critical role as coordinator for the AdZU Recovery and Assistance
Program (AdZU-RAP), which is the University’s response to the September 2013
Zamboanga Siege, done in partnership with the local government unit and
humanitarian agencies. He also served as lead convener of Mindanao Emergency
Response Network (MERN) for Zamboanga City, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, which
is responsible for bringing together different organizations from ZamBaSulTa
area to address relief operations during man-made and natural disasters
(2013-2014).

 

As
Assistant for Social Development, his primary functions shall include the
following:

 

1.                 
Plan,
implement, monitor and assess the University’s strategic plan for social
development (AdZUStratPlan 17/22)

2.                 
Oversee the programs and activities of the
offices and centers under the social development cluster

3.                 
Coordinate with different  units, offices, and individuals in matters
pertaining to social action and advocacies 

4.                 
Initiate and encourage activities that
heighten awareness and deepen involvement of the AdZU community in social
issues and realities

I thank Mr Enriquez for his generosity to serve
the University through this very important role. I ask the University Community
for prayers, support, and cooperation in strengthening our social development
