ARC recognized by City of Zamboanga and ZCPO for surveys conducted

ARC recognized by City of Zamboanga and
ZCPO for surveys conducted

The Ateneo Research Center (ARC) was presented a plaque
of appreciation by Zamboanga City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar and City
Police Director Police Senior Superintendent Angelito Casimiro for conducting
the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) Personnel and Stakeholders Engagement
Surveys. The recognition was given on July 14, 2014 during the flag raising
ceremony at the Zamboanga City Hall. Present to receive the plaque of
appreciation for the ARC was Gerald James Y. Ebal, ARC Research Associate and
team leader for the surveys conducted. Other members of the survey team are
Regina Junio, Precious Opinion, Marilyn Miguel, and Jackylou Balilihan. Dr.
Teresita Montano, ARC Director, was the project supervisor.

The surveys were able to show that whereas trust and
satisfaction ratings of the local business community and the youth on the city
police were not particularly high, the same ratings were also not as dismal as
commonly believed. Results also highlighted the needs of local police personnel
as well as their satisfaction with the current ZCPO leadership.

Results
of the surveys were presented on July 3, 2014 during one of the weekly press
conferences held by City Mayor and was featured in news reports by local TV and
radio networks.
