Students from the Ateneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School (AdZU-JHS) hailed as the Overall Champion in the Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2015. Selected members of the Blue Eagle Publications and La Liga Atenista were those who competed in the said event last November 13 to 14, 2015 at the Don Pablo Lorenzo Memorial High School (DPLMHS).
Students who win at least Third Place in a category are qualified to join the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) next month, and the winners of that competition qualify to join the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC).
The following are the winners of the Individual competitions: Zacharee Masamayor – First Place, News Writing Myca Dane Sapitula – First Place, Pagsulat ng Balita Stefan Dela Cruz – First Place, Editorial Cartooning Anthony Godwin Jandusay – Third Place, Pagwawasto ng Sipi at Pag-uulo ng Balita Ahmad Panduga – Third Place, Paglalarawang Tudling Hernaly Fernandez – Third Place, Larawang Pampahayagan Alma Bianca Sakandal – Fourth Place, Copyreading and Headline Writing. Filipino categories are referred to by their official Filipino names.
Aside from the Individual Competitions, the Blue Eagle Publications won First Place in the Collaborative Publishing competition and Second Place overall in individual competitions, both in the English category, while the La Liga Atenista won First Place overall in individual competitions for the Filipino category. In addition, Blue Eagle Publications’s Tabloid won Second Place in the Best Campus Paper competition.
At the end of the competition on November 14, AdZU-JHS was proclaimed the Overall Champion.. Masamayor, Sapitula, Dela Cruz, Jandusay, Panduga, Fernandez, Sakandal and the Blue Eagle Publications Collaborative Publishing Team are qualified to join the RSPC on December.
