AdZUJHS strikes gold in Math-Stat Quiz Bowl
Alec Lee C. Salasa ofAteneo de Zamboanga University Junior High School(AdZU JHS), Mathematics Advanced Group of Integral Studies(MAGIS) Grade 10-St. Ignatius student, emerged as Champion in the 15th Math-Stat Quiz Bowl 2015.
The Quiz Bowl was held at the Carlos Dominguez Hall, LRC Building, La Purisima Campus, Ateneo de Zamboanga University on Friday, July 24, 2015, from 10:00am to 12:00 noon. It was organized by the Mathematics Department of College of Science and Information Technology(CSIT) of Ateneo de Zamboanga University.
The contest was participated in by contestants coming from the thirteen (13)Public and Private High Schools in Zamboanga City. AdZU JHS sent two contestants John Louise F. Guban and Lee Alec C. Salasa – both from MAGIS G10-St. Ignatius, but the contest only allowed one contestant per school. Regional Science High School(RSHS) emerged as 1st runner-up and Arturo Eustaquio Memorial Science High School(AEMSHS), 2nd runner-up.
The High School team was accompanied and trained by Mr. Ricky Vargas Baluca, chair of the JHS Mathematics department.
