ADZU Returns with 22 Golds from CHED Regional Games 09

The just concluded CHED Regional Games 2009 went smoothly as well as our hosting the Dipolog City Delegation.  The CHED National Games is tentatively scheduled on the 2nd week of February, 2010 to be held at the Rizal Memorial Colesium, Manila.

In the CHED Regional Games, ADZU athletes earned a total of twenty-two (22) gold, twenty-four (24) silver and twenty-eight (28) bronze medals, broken into the following:

Chess – 3 gold medals courtesy of Neil Temporada, Sarah Mae Chua and Aries Tenorio.

Swimming – 10 gold, and 7 silver medals courtesy of Dickson Ong, Jr. (3G/4S), Aeanne Filoteo (5G) and Roshelle Pauline Nativida (2G/3S).

Taekwondo –  5 gold medals courtesy of Francis Gabriel Alminar, Louie Laquio, Maila Marcial, Karen Joyce Credo and Joanna Paola Perez. 1 silver medal earned by Mica Martinez and 1 bronze medal earned by Rhea Salomon.

Badminton – 1 gold medal earned by Laricarr Marie Lazaga, 1 silver medal earned by Jovanni Wee and 2 bronze medals courtesy of Christine Timtim and Shiny Verse Berberio.

Judo – 2 silver medals earned by Jayvee Bernardo and Juan David Ferrer.

Athletics – 3 gold, 8 silver, 4 bronze medals courtesy of Tyrone Chua (1G/3S/1B), Vanessa Nanding (2G/2S/1B), Dan Jonas Revantad (1S/2B), Patrick Salarda (1S), JC Combista (1S)

Basketball (W) – 5 silver medals.

Volleyball (W) – 6 bronze medals.

Football (M) – 11 bronze medals

Table Tennis (W) – 4 bronze medals
