Ateneo de Zamboanga University’s (AdZU) Center for Community Extension Services (CCES), in partnership with AdZU’s Senior High School Unit and Primus Ventures Zamboanga, provided much-needed school supplies and food packs to learners of Campo Uno Indigenous Peoples Elementary School in Sitio Campo Uno, Labuan, on November 12, 2024.

Campo Uno, a long-time partner community of CCES, continues to face challenges due to its remote location, limiting access to essential resources such as school supplies. To help address this, 141 learners from Kindergarten to Grade 6 received school materials and Nestlé Halal food packs through the initiative.
The distribution effort showcased the spirit of collaboration, as learners actively assisted in transporting the supplies across a river and to their school, a journey requiring a 5–10-minute walk. This highlighted the resilience and strong sense of community among Campo Uno’s students and teachers.
Present during the activity were Mr Wilbert Sajulga, Program Officer for Education; Ms. Ma Isabel Pantaleon, Program Officer for Health; and Mr Roldan Torino, Elementary School Principal I, along with the dedicated faculty and students of Campo Uno.

This initiative exemplifies the commitment of AdZU and its partners to support education and improve the well-being of communities in need, fostering hope and empowerment in even the most remote areas.
