The Ateneo de Zamboanga University launched its premier journal Asia Mindanao: Dialogue on Peace and Development on February 18, 2014 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM at the Carlos Dominguez Conference Hall in the Eusebio Salvador SJ Campus.
During the event the journal was launched and presented to Father President Karel S San Juan SJ. Books written by Mindanawon authors and those about Mindanao were also showcased. In addition, the university also hosted the lecture on the history of Mindanao by famous Mindanao scholar, author, and current Hawaii Pacific University professor Eric Casiño, PhD
The books on exhibit came from the Bacatan Library, Mindanews (Davao City), and private collection of Fr. Albert Alejo, SJ. The team responsible for the success of the launch was composed of Ateneo Research Center, headed by ARC Director Dr. Teresita G. Montaño, Asia Mindanaw Managing, Editor Gerald James Y. Ebal, Social Development Office headed by Fr. Albert E. Alejo SJ PhD, Jose Bacatan Library, and the Social Studies Department headed by Cristina Cañones.
