Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) maintains its partnership with the
Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as an implementing agency of the Special
Training Program on Business Analytics.
In 2015, CHED launched a Special Training Program on Business
Analytics as part of the CHED Faculty Development Program. The training program
focuses on enabling faculty members to teach undergraduate and
graduate courses in Analytics specifically for courses under the Business
Administration and Information Technology programs with specialization track in
Business Analytics. The training components include trainers training or
evangelists training, training of teachers, and an online analytics course.
As a CHED Delivering High Education Institution (DHEI) known for its distinctive record as Center of Excellence/Center of Development, Autonomous/Deregulated Higher Education Institution bearing PAASCU Level III accreditation, AdZU offers the Special Program alongside other Ateneo schools like Ateneo de Naga University and Ateneo de Manila University.
“We have been receiving a lot of positive feedback about the program and more schools have been coordinating with us on how they could send their faculty to undergo this Special Training,” says Daisy Quisel, Region IX Coordinator for the Special Training Program. She adds that though the target for the training covers Region IX only, requests to undergo the training comes as far as Region X.
The Special Training Program has two tracks: the Business Administration Track and Information Technology Track.
For the Business Administration Track, the Special Training Program covers five fundamental courses on Business Analytics; Data Warehousing; Descriptive Analytics; Predictive Analytics; and Prescriptive Analytics. For the Information Technology Track, the training covers Business Analytics; Enterprise Data Management; Analytics Modelling; Analytics Techniques and Tools; and Analytics Application.
AdZU has four trainers for each track who have completed the Business Analytics courses for the Business Administration and
Information Technology Tracks. For the Information Technology Track, trainers
are Romeo Rabajante Jr., Maureen Olive Gallardo, Fe Grace Tubog, and Anne
Catherine Yu. For the Business Administration Track, the trainers are Quisel, Dr Rochelleo Mariano, AJ Cresmundo, and Jasper Ajarani.
