ADZU Center for Culture and the Arts director Marco Alfino “Kiko” Miranda has been invited to be an artist-in-residence at the ricca ricca*festa 2015 (International Theater Festival OKINAWA for Young Audience), which will take place in Naha City, Okinawa, from 27th July to 2nd August 2015.
This artist residency aims to develop a network of people who are involved in theatre in Asia. The programme includes a series of lectures about the current situation and future prospects of creative industry in Asia, as well as discussions about the works at the festival.
The ricca ricca*festa -International Theater Festival OKINAWA for Young Audience – is an annual performing arts festival for children and young people. It programmes a wide range of productions from Japan, Asia and the globe and attracts artists, producers and presenters from all over the world every year. It is an active platform for practitioners to meet and interact.
The festival is the current chair of ATYA -Asian Alliance of Theatre Festivals for Young Audiences-, a network of theatre festivals for children and young people in Asia. ATYA works keenly to expand the network to enliven theatre for children and young people in Asia and connect artists from Asia and the world.
